Families have been cautioned of sharp ascents in energy costs, with normal bills figure to reach £4,200 in 2023.
Direct charges are normally charged in a manner so clients develop "credit" during the hotter mid year months when utilization is lower, to fan out the expense of involving more energy in the colder months.
"It's subsequently workable for direct charges to build in front of a cost cap rise or in any event, when a client's utilization has stayed steady," an Ofgem representative said.
